Resuscitation of Cardiac Arrest following Topical Anesthesia with Tetracaine HCl

Abstract
|
|
|
Authors experienced a case of cardiac arrest from systemic toxic reactions after topical use of tetracaine HCI on the respiratory mucosa. This patient was discharged in good condition after intensive care for 3 days.
Through this case, smaller dose with low concentration than usual maximum dose is recommended for prevention of systemic toxic reactions from local anesthetic agents.
